Deborah's most recent experience includes 3 years as a Senior Associate with the world's largest Architectural firm Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum managing and designing corporate interiors projects. Her responsibilities included overseeing project teams along with managing client accounts. As a licensed interior designer she was responsible for programming, conceptual design, design implementation, and observing the build out of the project. She was instrumental in starting the Interiors Design Forum and promoting Sustainable Design. Prior to joining Hellmuth, Obata + Kassabaum she worked with Gensler for 10 years as an Associate designing both architecture and interiors projects. Most of the projects were custom interiors ranging from airports to large corporate offices. She was instrumental in starting Gensler's Sustainable Design Forum, which she continued at other architecture firms. This tenure was followed by 4 years with IA as a Senior Project Designer and Manager on both individual and corporate accounts.
Deborah brings to Deming Design years of experience in designing and managing both design and interior architecture projects of all types and sizes with budgets ranging from $20 SF to $350 SF. The mix of current project types includes commercial, corporate, and residential interiors, graphics, landscape design, and fine arts. She prides herself in working with clients to create designs that honor the client's requirements ranging from aesthetic to budgetary needs.
Along with her design practice, Deborah helped start the Pico Beautification Group, which is involved in a community effort to spruce up Pico Boulevard in West Los Angeles. To date the group has planted trees, commissioned a mural, and is in the process of designing hardscape along with the placement of street furniture and bus shelters. The group received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Los Angeles Board of Public Works on February 27, 2002.
Deborah holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Architecture from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Deborah was born and raised in Massachusetts and has spent the last 19 years residing in Los Angeles, California.
